Dexter takes part in Bucksport meet

BUCKSPORT — The Dexter Regional High School track team took part in a Penobscot Valley Conference meet May 10 at Bucksport High School, with both Tiger teams finishing in fifth place.

The Dexter boys were fifth among a field of seven schools with a score of 44 points.

Tristan Hopkins-Watrous came in second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.71 seconds. He was also third in the 100 at 12.19 seconds. Hopkins-Watrous added a fifth-place height in the high jump at 4 feet, 10 inches.

Brady Jerome finished in the discus with his throw measuring 113-03. Jerome was also fourth in the shot put at 37-09.

Bryce Cooper came in fourth in the high jump at 5-00. He was sixth in the long jump and javelin at respective distances of 16-00 and 110-09.

Tanner Ladd had a fourth-place throw in the discus at 98-04 and a fifth-place shot put throw at 35-10.

In the girls meet, Dexter scored 34 points in Bucksport to place fifth among seven teams.

Brookelin Dorman came in second in both the 100 and 200 at 14.05 and 29.86 seconds. She also was second in the triple jump at 29-06.

Dorman also ran the third leg of the third-place 4×100 relay team as Mackenzie Curtis, Dorman, Maddy Lagross, and Addy Gudroe combined for a time of 1:01.81.

The Tigers also had fifth-place performances from Lagross in the 200 at 31.60 seconds and Gudroe in the triple jump at 23-08.
