Peter Boie: Magician for non-believers to perform at Center Theatre

DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Center Theatre has announced an evening of mind-bending magic and laughter with Peter Boie, one of the country’s top college magic acts, at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 17. Known for his compelling blend of humor and astonishing magic, Peter Boie’s performance “Peter Boie: Magician for Non-Believers” promises to challenge one’s grasp on reality all the while sporting his signature orange sneakers. Boie is honest with his audiences. Magic isn’t real. . . but he will make you believe it is for the length of the show.

Boie’s fascination with magic began at age 11 from a library book, and has since evolved into a celebrated career, recently highlighted on the CW Network’s “Penn & Teller: Fool Us”. Besides his evening show, Boie will engage students from SeDoMoCha with his STEM-based educational program “Engineering Wonder”, showcasing the science behind the magic.

“We’re fortunate to have Peter Boie share his talents here,” said Patrick Myers, executive director of the Center Theatre. “His dual role with the kids and community significantly enriches this event, making it a win-win for everyone involved.”

Evening performance tickets are priced at $14 in advance; $16 at the door; and $12 for theatre members. For tickets or more information, visit www.centertheatre.org, call 207-564-8943, or visit the box office at 20 East Main Street at Dover-Foxcroft.

The Center Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to engage and inspire by making arts, education, and entertainment accessible to our rural communities.
