Grow your own mushrooms with PCSWCD & Bissell Brothers Three Rivers

MILO — Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District is teaming up with our friends at Bissell Brothers Three Rivers (BB3R) to present a Mushroom Log Inoculation Workshop at BB3R Brewery on Saturday, April 27. Participants can register for one of two sessions, 12-2 p.m. or 3-5 p.m., and learn how to properly and successfully inoculate logs to grow mushroom varieties. Dustin Small of Bissell Brothers Three Rivers and Jensen Bissell and Kent Black of PCSWCD will lead the workshop and all participants will learn techniques, storage, and growing information, and information about the varieties of mushrooms they will be growing, which will be either Chestnut (Pholiota aurivella) or Oyster – PoHu (Pleurotus ostreatus). All materials will be provided for workshop participants to use. Folks will leave with an inoculated log or two.

Registration for this workshop is required and limited, so make sure to head over to www.piscataquisswcd.org to claim a spot in this fun, informative workshop. We encourage workshop participants to take the time to grab something to eat or drink after you join us for the workshop, as there will be mushroom-inspired culinary treats available for purchase.
