Brown announces candidacy for House District 31

ORNEVILLE TOWNSHIP — Joseph Brown, D-Orneville Township announces his candidacy for the Maine House of Representatives District 31, which includes Atkinson Township, Brownville, Dover-Foxcroft, Lakeview Plantation, Medford, Milo, and Orneville Township.

Brown was born at a local hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, spent his childhood in Milo, and graduated from Penquis Valley High School in 2007. He has earned his living in the area, first hauling wood for various companies and then starting his own dump truck business in 2021, which takes him all over the state.

The candidate’s top priority is bringing resources to help people with the opioid and mental health crisis that is plaguing the district. In addition, he wants to boost economic recovery by encouraging natural resource-based activities like hunting, fishing, hiking, and other outdoor recreational opportunities that would bring in money to the area. Other issues of concern include fixing old and damaged roads and bridges and reducing challenges for remote workers and students with better access to high speed internet in rural areas.
