Nutter to receive 2024 Foxcroft Academy MPA Principal’s Award

DOVER-FOXCROFT — Elyse Nutter of Sebec, a senior at Foxcroft Academy, has been selected to receive the 2024 MPA Principal’s Award. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic excellence, outstanding school citizenship, and leadership.

Elyse is the daughter of Christine and Shane Nutter, and she lives in Sebec. She has been involved at FA as she’s been a member of the National Honor Society, Latin Club, Peer Mediation, Trivia Club, Volleyball Club, and various other organizations. Elyse plans to attend the University of Maine in the honors program this fall.

“Elyse fits the criteria for this MPA Principal’s Award and then some,” said Arnold Shorey, Foxcroft Academy head of school. “She is a leader inside and outside the classroom. Elyse is also a trusted voice in all of the clubs and organizations she is a part of, and her integrity, work ethic, and commitment to FA show through in everything she does.”

Elyse and Assistant Head of School Jon Pratt will attend an honors luncheon with other award winners and their principals at Jeff’s Catering in Brewer on Saturday, April 6.

The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 100 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association representing Maine’s school administrators.
