Foxcroft indoor track has three first-place performances

ORONO —  The Foxcroft Academy boys indoor track and field team scored 39 points to place sixth among a field of nine schools during a Penobscot Valley Conference/Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet Saturday, Jan. 27 at the University of Maine.

Sophomore Conner Donahue had top performances in both the 200 meters and long jump. In the 200 Donahue ran a time of 24.82 seconds, besting second place by 1. 4 seconds. He won the long jump with a distance of 19 feet, 9.5 inches, surpassing the event runner-up by over 4.5 inches.

Donahue also came in second in the 55-meter finals at 7.05 seconds.

Pony junior Runner Jarrett had the meet’s top time in the 2-mile. He won the event in a time of 10:59.86, about 57 seconds ahead of second place.

Freshman Pace Jarrett had a point for Foxcroft with his sixth-place run in the mile at 5:21.03.

The Piscataqus Community High School boys were ninth at UMaine with two points.

Pirate senior Parker Kelley came in fifth in the high jump at 4-10.

In the girls’ meet, PCHS scored 4.5 points to tie the Bangor Christian School for eighth place among nine teams.

The Pirates were fifth and sixth in the mile as sophomores Sadie Kelley and Molly Goodwin had respective times of 6:49.28 and 6:58.52. 

Goodwin also tied for fifth in the high jump as she and Hermon High School sophomore Kaylee Applebee both cleared the bar at a height of 3-08.
