Center Theatre board holds annual meeting

DOVER-FOXCROFT – At the Center Theatre Board of Directors annual meeting on Jan. 17, Andrew Lizotte was elected as the new chair. The board also expressed gratitude to Cindy Freeman Cyr, who has agreed to remain on the board to continue to support the theatre and its mission following her six years of dedicated service as board chair.

Lizotte has been on the board for three years and is looking forward to helping to lead the organization.

“I’m humbled to be taking over from Cindy, who brought me into the organization,” said Lizotte. “She is such a strong advocate for the Center Theatre. I am glad she’s going to remain involved.”

The board of directors reviewed the theatre’s accomplishments in 2023, including a new Summer Drama Camp Program in Greenville and many movies and live performances. They also adopted a new three-year strategic plan. The plan calls for increased growth in the theatre’s education and outreach programs so that they can reach more individuals outside the Dover-Foxcroft area.

In addition to the election of Lizotte as chair, the board welcomed other officers: Kristen Gilbert as vice chair, Alicia Stone as treasurer, and Sarah Domarecki as secretary.  The meeting underscored the Center Theatre’s mission to engage and inspire by making arts, education, and entertainment accessible to rural communities.
