PCHS finishes sixth at Warrior Clash

NEWPORT — The Piscataquis Community High School wrestling team placed sixth at the 2024 Nokomis Warrior Clash on Saturday, Jan. 6 at Nokomis Regional High School. The Pirates ended the day with a score of 80 points, good for sixth among 20 teams.

PCHS’ Dominic Zeller and Beau Talbot both reached the championship finals, coming in second at 157 and 285 points respectively.

Karson Tibbetts won his match in the 138-pound consolation finals to earn third-place honors. Brady Ball and Dominic Cookson were both fourth in their weight classes, 165 and 175 pounds.

Dexter Regional High School came in eighth at the Warrior Clash with 65 points.

Matt Severance reached the 113-pound finals, placing second in the division. Garrett Tibbetts came in third at 120 pounds, and Tanner Ladd was fourth at 215 pounds.

Foxcroft Academy placed eighth in Newport with a score of 58 points.

Nick McMillen won his 106-pound consolation finals match to finish third.

Nate Durgin, at 126 pounds, and Tyler Wing, at 190 pounds, both came in fourth.
