Center Theatre presents school performance of ‘A Christmas Carol’

DOVER-FOXCROFT – As a holiday treat for the school and homeschool community, the Center Theatre has announced a special morning performance of their holiday classic, “A Christmas Carol”. This exclusive show for area school kids is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

The Center Theatre is opening its doors for Dickens’ beloved holiday story to be enjoyed by homeschool families and in-school kids. Performed by the Slightly Off-Center Players Community Theater Group, this rendition of “A Christmas Carol” promises to bring the spirit of the season to life in an engaging way for children of all ages.

“We’re happy to make space available for the homeschool community to enjoy this classic holiday tradition at the Center Theatre,” said Patrick Myers, the theatre’s executive director. “The story of Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol is perfect for kids of all ages and this show by the Slightly Off-Center Players Community Theater Group will entertain the whole family.” Additionally, Myers said that the theatre’s concessions stand will be open as usual, offering a range of snacks and beverages for attendees.

To make this event accessible to as many families as possible, homeschool kids will receive the theatre’s special School Group rate of only $3 per child, with parents attending free of charge. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling the theatre at 207-564-8943 or stopping by in person at 20 East Main Street, Dover-Foxcroft. The Center Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to engage and inspire by making arts, education, and entertainment accessible to our rural communities.
