Foxcroft Academy students’ Italian dinner to raise money for Madrid trip

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Foxcroft Academy International Club students are holding an Italian dinner to raise money for a planned trip to Madrid, Spain, next April. The dinner will be held at Foxcroft Academy on Thursday, Nov. 30 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dinner is $12 per adult and $8 per child aged 13 and under.

The six students of the International Club are working to raise $20,000 for the total cost of the trip, which is being coordinated through Explorica Educational Travel. The 8-day trip will include tours, sightseeing, and cultural education in Madrid, Granada, and Seville. The money raised will help pay for airfare, food, lodging, travel, and other expenses. The goal of the dinner is to raise $1,000.

“This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Natalie Young, English language arts teacher and advisor for the International Club, “this is a wonderful experience that we’re thrilled to make available to our students. We hope the community will support the student’s efforts to raise money for the trip.”

Several students in the International Club are working to raise money for their share of the trip, but the proceeds from the dinner will be shared equally to reduce the costs for all the students.

Chef Chris Young from Woodman’s Grill in Orono will prepare the dinner. The menu includes an Italian spread with homemade marinara over spaghetti, garlic bread, and salad. The students of the International Club will serve the dinner. Tickets for the dinner can be purchased in advance by contacting Young at Natalie.Young@foxcroftacademy.org or by calling Foxcroft Academy at 207-564-8351.
