Friends of Community Fitness pickleball leagues wrap up

GUILFORD — Friends of Community Fitness wrapped up the first season of pickleball leagues on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The season began in May and there were three league sessions including up to eight teams playing matches  over six weeks with a championship round between the top two scoring teams.

The first two championships were played by Jim and Lynn Lubas vs. Ron Fountain and Sherrie Thomas, with the Lubas team coming out as the first-place team. The third session Lynn and Sherrie partnered up to form a new power-house team, taking first place in the final championship round against Britney Gallagher and Jason Brochu.
