Maine secretary of state speaks at Piscataquis Democrats Fall Dinner and Fundraiser

MILO — Piscataquis County Democrats gathered at the Three Rivers Kiwanis Building in Milo on Saturday, Oct. 21 for the annual Fall Dinner and Fundraiser. Bev Uhlenhake, chairperson of the State Democratic Party, presided over the program and thanked everyone who made the event possible. Over 40 people enjoyed a delicious dinner, bid on silent auction items and listened to an inspiring message from Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows.

Bellows shared that Maine had the highest voter participation rate in the nation in the last election, and she challenged those assembled to work to exceed that rate. Maine has taken steps to increase voter registration as well as access to voting early in every town. The secretary reviewed the referenda on this year’s ballot and encouraged everyone to vote on Nov. 7 or to vote early as ballots are available now.
