County law enforcement carries the Special Olympics Torch

TORCH RUN — Officers from Dover-Foxcroft Police Department, Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office, Milo Police Department, Maine Warden Service, Maine State Police, and some younger runners all took turns carrying the torch 8-plus miles from Guilford to Dover-Foxcroft in a Special Olympics Torch Run on June 8. The group started at 9:55 a.m. and arrived by the East Main Street bridge in Dover-Foxcroft at 11:45 a.m. a short ways from the finish line at the police station. Law enforcement agencies around the state carried the torch to support Special Olympics Maine, with the State Summer Games set for the University of Maine June 9-11.
