PCHS girls track finishes fourth at Hampden

HAMPDEN — The Piscataquis Community High School girls track team scored 75 points to place fourth among six schools at a Penobscot Valley Conference meet at Hampden Academy on April 28.

The Pirates’ Molly Sipple earned top honors in both the 100 meters and the discus. Sipple won the sprint in a time of 13.56 seconds and her throw measuring 84 feet, 9 inches was the day’s best in the discus.

Ava Goulette came in first in the shot put with a throw of 29-07.50.

Samantha Goodwin placed second in the javelin at 81-00, and Kendall Kimball came in second in the discus at a distance of 84-02.

Both PCHS relays finished in the top three. The Pirate 4×400 was second in a time of 4:58.86, and the 4×100 squad placed third in 55.75 seconds.

The PCHS boys team came in sixth at Hampden with six points.

Cole Herrick came in fourth in the high jump by clearing the bar at 5-02.

The Pirate 4×400 relay was sixth in 4:48.67.
