Local Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race results

Nearly a dozen paddlers from across the region took part in the 2023 Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race on Saturday, April 16, traveling about 16.5 miles from the village of Kenduskeag into downtown Bangor. Overall 688 participants took part in 356 boats in a number of different classes.

The pair of Tim Johnston of Parkman and Orion Fleming of Corinth had the day’s top time in the kayak 2-person class. Johnston and Fleming came in first in a time of 2 hours, 38 minutes, and 52 seconds.

Placing third in 2-person kayak was Josiah Corbin of Dover-Foxcroft and Jael Fleming of Corinth in 3:10.13.

Edward Mead of Dover-Foxcroft paddled to a seventh-place performance at kayak 1-person short with his time of 3:04.24.

The team of Oliver Degnan of LaGrange and Ben Foster of Hampden finished ninth in canoe 2-person short recreation at 3:19.13.

For canoe 2-person mix recreation Adam Craig of Exeter and Annie Pendygraft of Exeter were 11th at 3:25.14.

Rebecca Huettner of Monson and Alexander Larrabee of St. George were 25th in the division at 3:51.44.

In the canoe 2-person short beginner class Jim Irish of Parkman and Clayton Zeller of Parkman placed 15th at 4:13.21. Tyler Bourgoin of Charleston and Jordan Clement of Bradford were 17th at 4:15.57.

Cory Barnett of Dexter was part of a 3-person open class team, which was 26th in the division in 4:29.49.
