Maine Whoopie Pie Festival sees some sweet additions this year

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The beloved Maine Whoopie Pie Festival is back for another year of sweet celebrations in downtown Dover-Foxcroft from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 24. The festival will once again showcase hundreds of varieties of whoopie pies from dozens of talented bakers, alongside live music, rides, games, artists, crafters, vendors, and other fun-filled activities for the whole family.

This year, the festival is introducing a few exciting changes to enhance the attendee experience. For the first time, VIP passes and VIP parking passes will be available for purchase in advance. The VIP entrance passes allow festival-goers to skip the entrance lines and dive right into the sweet festivities.

In welcome news to everyone who experienced last year’s hot temperatures, Dave’s World is sponsoring a 20 by 20 cooling tent at the festival, providing a refreshing space for visitors to relax and escape the heat.

True Value Hardware will be hosting the festival entertainment this year. True Value Hardware is also hosting its annual Home Show Expo with vendor displays, door prizes and chainsaw carving by Maine’s favorite Burns Bears!

As always, the Maine Whoopie Pie Festival serves as the largest annual fundraiser for the Center Theatre, a non-profit performing arts venue committed to making arts, culture, education and entertainment accessible to rural communities to engage and inspire. The festival also benefits the theatre’s event partner, the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce, and countless other businesses and organizations in the region.

Event organizers would like to thank the festival’s lead sponsor, Shaw’s Supermarkets, as well as other sponsors that make the festival possible: The Eastern Gazette, Maine Credit Unions, US Cellular, the Varney Agency, and Bissell Brothers Brewing.

The entrance fee for the 2023 festival is $6 per person, with children 12 and under still enjoying free admission. VIP passes and more information about the event are available at www.mainewhoopiepiefestival.com or by calling the Center Theatre at 207-564-8943.
