CANCER FOUNDATION BENEFIT — The Dexter Regional High School girls basketball team lines the court — with reserves wearing commemorative warm-up shirts — for the National Anthem prior to a girls/boys doubleheader between the Tigers and host Piscataquis Community High School of Guilford on Jan. 27. The evening marked the return of “Fill the Gym for Childhood Cancer,” with $3,600 raised by attendees going to the Aliza Jean Family Cancer Foundation. The memorial Harmony-based organization provides financial support for local families who have a child fighting cancer. The goal is to spread awareness about pediatric cancer and to advocate for advancements in research and treatment.
