Modern Image Salon reopens with red carpet event after renovations

DOVER-FOXCROFT — On Friday, Oct. 21 Modern Image Salon of Dover-Foxcroft will hold a red carpet open house event to celebrate the reopening of their location at 10 Lincoln Street after a “life-changing” renovation. This event is from 5-7 p.m. and will be open to the public.

Shari Sage, Modern Image owner, has been building trusting relationships and making her clients look great and feel good about themselves for nearly 24 years on the corner of Lincoln and North Street. Shari is one of three stylists at the salon, including her sister, Robin Brasslett, who has been working at her side for 20 years, and the newest addition, Hailey Wooddell, who brings 10 years’ experience with her. Through two decades, thousands of clients, and a few other stylists who have moved on to open their own businesses, one thing has remained constant — the commitment to a family-like atmosphere established from the first day Modern Image opened its doors.

NEW LOOK SALON — Modern Image Salon will hold a red carpet open house to celebrate the reopening of the Dover-Foxcroft location from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21. From left are Hailey Wooddell, owner Shari Sage, and Robin Brasslett.

“We want our clients to feel welcomed and safe, trusting us to help them feel their best and receive a blessing of comfort while they are sitting in our chairs; that is what we believe we are here for,” said Sage.

Three months ago, Modern Image temporarily moved to a rented space on West Main Street so that the building at 10 Lincoln Street could undergo major renovations to update the facade of the building and add a second-floor apartment to be occupied by Sage. The investment has been recognized by clients and community members who have enthusiastically followed the construction progress on social media.

“The outpouring of support from the community and other business owners has been overwhelming, everyone is so excited about the upgrades to the building and for me personally,” said Sage. “We are holding the red carpet event to thank our customers and local residents, so that we can celebrate with them the beginning of this new chapter for Modern Image.”

“This is the first ‘red carpet’ event I will have been a part of,” said Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce Director Denise Buzzelli. “The ladies at Modern Image want those who attend to feel celebrated; show up in formal attire or in casual clothing, all are welcome.”

Those who attend the event can expect light finger foods, hors d’oeuvres from Chew 62, and wine from Stone Tree Farm and Cidery of Unity, as well as door prizes and giveaways. RSVP preferred; community members can RSVP on the Modern Image Facebook page or at piscataquischamber.com/events.

Modern Image is a full-service salon offering hair and nail services, body treatments, wedding hair styles, and makeup application. Brasslett, a licensed esthetician, offers professional skin care services and a full line of skin care products. To make an appointment, please call 207-564-3917 or via Facebook Messenger.
