Northern Light CA Dean Hospital announces fall flu shot and COVID-19 booster clinics

GREENVILLE — Northern Light CA Dean Hospital will be providing adult walk-in flu shots as well as COVID-19 boosters using the recently-updated vaccine at two upcoming clinics in Greenville. The Saturday, Sept. 24 clinic is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Friday, Sept. 30 clinic will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Both clinics will be held at Bartley’s Center Cove Events at 241 Pritham Avenue.

Individuals 18 years of age and older can get a flu shot, COVID-19 booster, or both.

“Anyone can get sick from the flu, but people over the age of 65 and those with chronic conditions are particularly at risk. With flu season right around the corner, now is the best time to get vaccinated,” says Deidre Gilbert, PharmD, director of Pharmacy, CA Dean Hospital.

High dose flu shots will be available for people 65 years of age and older.

Gilbert notes that COVID-19 continues to circulate in our community, and some individuals are experiencing severe illness and hospitalization. The “new” COVID-19 booster is recommended for everyone 12 years of age and older who hasn’t had a COVID-19 vaccine in the past two months.

Those planning to attend the clinic are asked to wear a short-sleeved shirt and bring a face mask. Anyone who is not feeling well is asked to stay home and schedule a vaccination at a later date.
