Forrest G. Whitman Memorial Golf Tournament achieves fundraising milestone in support of local scholarships
GREENVILLE — Nearly $25,000 was raised at the 11th annual Forrest G. Whitman Memorial Golf Tournament on Aug. 11 at Mt. Kineo Golf Course in Rockwood. With strong support from sponsors and golfers, the tournament set a new fundraising record for Northern Light CA Dean Hospital’s signature golf scramble.
Nearly 70 golfers from across the state came out to play 18 holes at Mt. Kineo Golf Course. Built in the 1880s, Mt. Kineo is one of the oldest and most stunning golf courses in New England.
Every dollar raised is benefitting the Forrest G. Whitman Scholarship Fund which helps local students reach their educational goals. The tournament honors Whitman’s long-time service to the community and CA Dean Hospital.

The top finishers were the Burky and McCarthy Team (first place), the King Pine Disc Golf Team (second place), and the Steinke and Caruso Dental Team (third place).
Event sponsors include Ware-Butler Building Supply, Indian Hill Trading Post, Puritan Medical Products, Nurse Anesthesia of Maine, Moosehead Lake Yacht Club, Steinke and Caruso Dental Care, and Hampden Electric. CA Dean Hospital thanks Bill Willard, Marcel and Helene Dutil, Elwood Doran, and the entire Mt. Kineo Golf Club for their continued support and generosity.

The 12th annual Forrest G. Whitman Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023. Registration will open in the spring of 2023.
