Guilford students will raise voices and lift spirits

GUILFORD — Piscataquis Community Elementary School students will demonstrate their skills as classes, groups, and individuals using their voices, instruments, and movement on two separate nights as we approach the end of the school year.

Two elementary school concerts are planned. The first features kindergarten through grade 3 performing on Thursday, May 26, starting at 5:30 p.m. in the elementary school gymnasium on Campus Drive in Guilford. Students will be performing songs that they have been working hard to learn. They take great pride in their accomplishments and enjoy the support of parents and friends.

The second will be held on Tuesday, June 7, starting at 5:30 p.m. and will feature students from grades 4-6. This concert will feature the band and a newly formed after-school choir. Students will be singing, playing ukuleles, and leading the audience in singing a tune or two.

These concerts represent a return to an annual community tradition during which the community enjoys the student’s accomplishments. As they raise their voices and instruments, they genuinely lift the spirits of those who attend. Attendance is free at these concerts under the direction of Evan Viera, PCES music teacher.
