Power of Positive Choices Day

MILO — On Friday, March 25 Penquis Valley High School will be hosting a Power of Positive Choices Day, sponsored by Northern Light Mayo Hospital, Penquis, Community Health and Counseling Services, and the Helping Hands with Heart Collaborative. It is funded in part using Drug-Free Communities grant funding.

Students will choose sessions of interest, learn about alternative strategies for stress management, work together to improve their school environment, and have fun.

“The past two years have been challenging, particularly for teens. For high school students, spring is filled with many exciting and stressful events – from celebrations to important tests, all the way to completing their high school career. This event will offer the chance for students to connect, develop coping skills, and learn how to manage these events healthily,” says Hillary Starbird, director of community outreach for Northern Light Mayo Hospital. “We’re excited to be able to play a role in this event!”
