Dexter juniors win Winter Carnival
DEXTER – During the week of Feb. 14-18, leading up to the vacation break, students at Dexter Regional High School were treated to a week long of activities sponsored by DRHS Student Government. Each day featured a special dress day along with an indoor and outdoor activity. All activities and events were designated a point value that accumulated all week long.
Going into the final day of competition the sophomore and junior classes found themselves deadlocked in a tie! The junior class was able to separate from the pack and wound up accumulating 1,285 points that bested the sophomores’ 1,155. The seniors ended the week with 1,005 points, freshmen 995, and staff with 455 points. Activities during the week provided donations to the March of Dimes, PAWS animal shelter, and a local food pantry.
The week was capped off with a unified basketball game between Dexter Regional High School and Nokomis. After the game the Tiger Cup was awarded to the junior class.
