PCSWCD to host a webinar on ‘Piscataquis Pests’

Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District is kicking off our 2022 events and programs season with a lunch break webinar titled “Piscataquis Pests.” The webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 1 from 12 to 1 p.m.

Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry Entomologist Thomas Schmeelk and Elissa Ballman of the Maine Forest Tick Survey will present information about three pests that pose considerable threats to Piscataquis County – Browntail Moth, Emerald Ash Borer, and ticks. These pests not only impact our health and local economy, they disrupt the entire ecosystem. We will learn information about the populations of each of these pests and what we can do to prevent infestations  in Piscacataquis County.

PCSWCD requires that participants RSVP for this free, informative webinar. RSVPs can be made at www.piscataquisswcd.org. Make plans to join us for this important lunchtime presentation.
