Moosehead Lake Kiwanis Club makes Christmas wishes come true

GREENVILLE – The Moosehead Lake Kiwanis Club brightened the holiday season for families facing challenges in the region through its annual Kiwanis Christmas Wish Tree Project.

Each year after Thanksgiving, local merchants displayed club Wish Trees. These trees have paper Christmas ornaments on them that identify the needs of families, particularly families with kids (age, gender, and needed item). At the same time, Kiwanis members put together shopping bags filled with food, personal care items, clothing, and game/puzzle books.

WISH TREE PROJECT – The Moosehead Lake Kiwanis Club filled 66 bags to serve 15 families through its annual Kiwanis Christmas Wish Tree Project.

Kiwanians delivered big bags of toys (eg, plastic sleds) and clothing (snow pants) to the families and to seniors and others. They filled 66 bags, served 15 families that included more than 30 kids!

The Moosehead Lake Kiwanis Club is able to do this through the generosity of donors near and far, and the support of local businesses. People are so appreciative of this activity, especially in these ongoing challenging times.
