Prong Pond Trail Hike & Stewardship Day

On Sunday, Sept. 19 please join Moosehead Trails and the Maine State Bureau of Parks & Lands at the new Prong Pond Trail located just off the Lily Bay Road in Beaver Cove. Volunteers will help clear trail corridors, improve trail markings, install signage, and more. No previous experience is required.

Volunteers will meet at the Appalachian Mountain Club office, 127 Moosehead Lake Road in Greenville, at 9 a.m. for a debrief and directions to the trail.

What to bring: Lunch, snacks, drinking water, work gloves, sunscreen/bug spray, layers/rain gear, and sunglasses/eye protection. Some tools and equipment will be available to share, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own loppers, hoes, rakes, and folding handsaws. Please wear sturdy footwear (boots) and appropriate clothing based on current weather conditions.

Although this will be a daylong event, volunteers are welcome to work for as long as they are able. All abilities and ages are welcome, although children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
