Piscataquis County Democrats contribute to two Greenville food cupboards

GREENVILLE — Piscataquis County Democrats continue to have monthly food drives for area food cupboards to address hunger in our communities. This month, we donated food items and a $200 check to Pete Johnson of the American Legion Food Pantry and to Pastor Russ Carr of the New Life Church Pantry both of Greenville.

Since this service project began in February, we have given $2,000 to area food cupboards.  Instead of a food drive in August, our focus will be in collecting backpacks/school supplies for the Penquis Backpack Project. Last year, they donated 1,200 backpacks/school supplies to students in need.
