Dexter Regional High School announces Class of 2021 valedictorian and salutatorian

DEXTER — Dexter Regional High School Principal Stephen Bell is honored to announce the Valedictorian for the Class of 2021 Olivia Peakes and Salutatorian Avery Herrick.

Peakes is the daughter of James and Shelly Peakes of Dexter. Olivia is planning to attend the University of Maine at Orono to study business administration. While in high school, Olivia has been involved in soccer, girls basketball (manager), unified basketball (assistant coach), tennis, Global Discussions, Positive Action Team, Seeds of Peace, National Honor Society, Key Club, and student government. Olivia had the opportunity to study abroad for several weeks in Australia and is the 2021 Maine Principals Award winner. Olivia currently serves as the National Honor Society president, Key Club senior representative and Class of 2021 vice president.

Avery Herrick is the daughter of Daralyn Herrick of Dexter and Travis Herrick (deceased) formerly of Abbot. Avery is planning to attend Central Maine Community College to study life sciences and play softball. Avery has high long-term aspirations, intending to further her education after CMCC at the University of New England and then apply to medical school.  While in high school, Avery has been involved in soccer, girls basketball, softball, field hockey, unified basketball (assistant coach), Key Club, National Honor Society and student government.  Avery is currently serving as the Student Government president, National Honor Society secretary and Key Club treasurer.
