Greenville’s Snyder wins javelin competition

GREENVILLE — Greenville High School took part in a track and field meet on May 1 at the Brewer Community School. The boys were fifth of a field of five schools with 14 points, and the Greenville girls came in fourth of four teams with a score of four points.

Laker senior Matt Snyder had the day’s top throw in the javelin. His distance of 128-05 gave him first place by over 10 feet. Snyder also came in second in the discus with a throw of 117-03.

The Greenville girls 4×100 was third among point-scoring relays (fourth overall) in a time of 1:02.69. The team was made up of senior Madison Kane, junior Eva Patrick and seniors Jessica Cobb and Lindsey Chandler.
