Dexter Regional High School Winter Carnival Court crowned

DEXTER — Dexter Regional High School held the annual Winter Carnival  from Feb. 1-12. The event is run by the Student Government under the direction of Rex Webb, adviser. The classes competed in various competitions such as snow sculptures, wall banners, skits,  dress-up days, outdoor games and indoor games. Due to COVID-19 and the school operating under a hybrid model with two cohorts, activities were modified with safety precautions being followed, and events livestreamed for the student body.

The senior class (Class of 2021) won overall, by a very close 10 points to the second place sophomore class (Class of 2023). The classes competed in a food drive which collected food for the area food cupboard, and the Key Club’s Dime Drive raised over $800 for their community service project.

The week concluded with the election of  the Winter Carnival court.  Dexter royalty is grade nine Lady Macey Deering, Lord William Spratt; grade 10 Duchess Jozlynn Paige, Duke Bryce Connor; grade 11 Princess Elizabeth Kinney, Prince Cameron Vafiades; and grade 12  Queen Cheyenne Beem, and Kings Hunter Dean and Parker Ponte.
