Dexter Student Government presents gas cards for oncology patients

DEXTER — On Friday, Nov. 20 Dexter Regional High School Student Government presented Hillary Starbird, community outreach supervisor for Northern Light Mayo Hospital with gas cards to help local oncology patients with travel expenses.

This is the second year that Student Government, led by adviser Rex Webb, has raised money during the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness. They host Hat and Jean Days for a small donation which is then in turn used to purchase the gas cards.

“In our region, transportation is a huge barrier for patients, we are grateful to the students of Dexter Regional High School for their commitment to their community and improving the lives of local cancer patients,” Starbird said.
