Name the Center Theatre 2nd Screen

The Center Theatre’s second screen should be finished sometime in November and the Theatre is holding a contest to suggest names for both the 2nd screen and main auditorium.

“Once it is up and running, we can’t just keep calling it ‘the 2nd screen’,” said Patrick Myers, the Center Theatre’s executive director, “so we’re asking the public to suggest names for both the new theater and our main auditorium.” Myers said the Theatre is accepting suggestions until Nov. 1 and that the prize for the winning name will be a $50 Center Theatre gift card.

NAME CONTEST — The Center Theatre’s 2nd Screen is nearing completion and they are asking for suggestions to name the new screen and main auditorium. Submissions can be given on the Center Theatre’s website or by calling the Theatre at 207-564-8943. The winner will receive a $50 Center Theatre gift card.

The Center Theatre had planned to open the new space last spring, but those plans were one of the many victims of the COVID-19 pandemic. The work has continued, albeit at a slow pace, but the Theatre does plan to have the space open in November. The new theater will have 40 seats and will be available for movies, private rentals, meetings and games.

Anyone wishing to suggest a name should go to the Center Theatre’s website and click on the “Name out 2nd Screen” button. Suggestions are also being accepted over the phone by calling the Center Theatre at 207-564-8943. If you leave a message, make sure to leave your name and contact information so the Theatre can get in touch if you win. The Center Theatre is a 501(c)3 non-profit with a mission to make arts, education and entertainment accessible to our rural community to engage and inspire.
