Foxcroft cross country teams win at home

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Foxcroft Academy girls and boys cross country teams each finished in first place during a home meet on Oct. 16.

In the girls’ meet the Ponies accumulated a score of 15  points for the top number among a field of five schools. Lee Academy, Dexter Regional High School, Central High School of Corinth and Schenck High School of East Millinocket all had no score.

RUNNING AT HOME — The Foxcroft Academy boys and girls each finished in first place during an Oct. 16 cross country meet in Dover-Foxcroft. The Ponies’ Annie Raynes and Joseph Keenan both had individual first-place runs.

Foxcroft’s Annie Raynes finished in first place among a contingent of 14 runners, covering the 5K course in a time of 20 minutes, 51.24 seconds. Raynes came in first place for the fourth time in as many races this season.

Other runners were 2. Annika King Dexter 22:04.24; 3. Marissa Cram Schenck 22:26.24; 4. Emma Alexander Dexter 24:19.24; 5. Olivia McCorrison Foxcroft 24:26.24; 6. Makayla Landry Foxcroft 24:48.24; 7. Madison Leathers Central 25:14.24; 8. Emily Gagnon Schenck 25:57.24; 9. Chloe Willigar Schenck 26:08.24; 10. Xiaodi Wang Foxcroft  27:47.24; 11. Martina De Lucia Foxcroft 28:43.24; 12. Luna Kemura Foxcroft 30:36.24; 13. Rebecca Tash Schenck 33:46.24; and 14. Linh Pham Foxcroft 37:37.24.

For the boys, Foxcroft scored 28 eights for the top total among five teams. Lee came in second with a score of 36 points and Dexter was third with 70. Central and Schenck had no score.

Joseph Keenan of Foxcroft had the day’s fastest time at 16:44.24, besting second place by 21 seconds to finish first among 32 runners.
