800-POUNDER -- Erica Dale shot this bull moose in Zone 6 (in Aroostook County) on Oct. 1. The moose weighed 800 pounds with a 62-inch spread on the antlers. Dale hunted with her father Bob Peterson and guides Don Dudley and Tom Chase. Dudley was good friends with Ray Porter, grandfather of Dale’s husband Jeff. Porter was also a guide in Patten for many years. Dudley had had lots of great stories to tell of times together in the woods with Porter. He died a few years ago but Porter knew Erica and he would have been proud of her.
