SeDoMoCha receives grant for trail improvements

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The SeDoMoCha School recently received a $7,350 grant from the Maine Community Foundation to rebuild a nature trail. In the 1970s Dorothy Warren built this trail for students to learn about nature.

School officials plan to build up the trail making the path more accessible for community members and students. They also are looking to add signage and learning stations where students will have opportunities to identify trees, plants, aquatic life, animal tracks and understand how wildlife prepares for each season. They are fortunate to have the support of 4-H, the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District and University of Maine Cooperative Extension for the project.
