Moosehead Lake Togue Derby returns Jan. 24-26
GREENVILLE — Join us Jan 24-26 for the 13th annual Moosehead Lake Togue Derby. We will be giving away some awesome prizes once again this winter. Of course, there will be prize money for the three largest togue: first place – $1,500, second place – $500; and third place – $250.
We’ve seen some huge togue come out of Maine’s largest lake over the past several years. Do you have what it takes to join the elite anglers that have topped the leader board and taken home the cash?

CATCH OF THE DERBY — Karen Quinn of Scarborough shows off the lake trout she caught to win last year’s Moosehead Lake Togue Derby. Quinn’s togue weighed 12.72 pounds and was 33.5 inches long.
We also will have a long list of door prizes. Remember, you don’t even need to step on the ice to win a door prize. Just buy a ticket and you could win! First door prize is a check for $1,500. That’s a good haul! We will have a .270 Savage with a scope and classic Remington model 870 12-gauge shotgun for derby door prizes. Indian Hill Trading Post is donating an ice fishing package as well as partnering with NREC on the firearms. There will be more cash, gift certificates from your favorite restaurants and many, many more door prizes.
And don’t forget the youth prizes. How about a lifetime fishing license donated by the Moosehead Lake Fisheries Coalition or a new bike donated by Northwoods Outfitters in Greenville? The youth prizes are open to all, just buy a family derby ticket or purchase individual youth prize tickets for just $5.
There will be a spaghetti dinner on Saturday night from 5-7 p.m. at the Bartley’s Event Center on Pritham Avenue We will have some prizes and a Chinese/bucket auction just for those that come to the dinner. All the proceeds from the dinner and auction benefit our Maine Woods Explorers youth program. Dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Unfortunately, Ricky Craven can’t join us this year due to his work commitments, but grab your neighbor or your fishing partner and join us for some excellent grub and maybe you can take home a terrific prize.
