“It is an honor to serve the hardworking people of Piscataquis County in Augusta,” Stearns said. “I will continue to advocate for less restrictive regulations, affordable, practical and environmentally sound energy solutions and any measures that will help stabilize spiraling health care costs. Just like every household, the State of Maine needs to prioritize needs over wants when creating a budget.”

Stearns served one term on the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee and is in his second term as the ranking House Republican on the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee.

Sen. Paul Davis, R-Sangerville says, “I strongly support Rep. Stearns’ reelection. He has done an excellent job representing his district in Augusta”.

Stearns and his wife Melissa live in Guilford, and have two children and two grandchildren.
