PCES recognizes December Students of the Month

GUILFORD — Nine pupils in grades 5-8 at Piscataquis Community Elementary School are December Students of the Month. The month’s honorees were presented with certificates in front of their peers and teachers during an assembly in the cafeteria to start the day on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Students of the Month are selected by their teachers for criteria such as outstanding citizenship and academic performance. Principal Anita Wright told the audience that some of the recipients have “shown great effort and improvement in math and social studies,” “she is always asking good questions and participates positively in class,” demonstrates leadership by participating in band and sports and “goes above and beyond when learning new concepts by taking notes and helps other students learn the concepts she knows so well.”

The newest Students of the Month at PCES include Karrigan Wilson and Tanner Tracy representing grade 5; sixth-graders Bella Buehne and Ava Goulette; grade 7 honorees Abbey Burgess and Khloe Kimball; and eighth-graders Braylin Bilodeau, Emily Easler and Connor Hamlin.
