Final days to order insulating window inserts for 2019
The Dover-Foxcroft team of Window Dressers is in the final weeks of measuring for this year’s workshop. All measurements must be submitted by Sept. 15. This year’s workshop will be held at the Dexter Town Hall from Oct. 12-20. The measuring teams have been busy measuring from Palmyra to Parkman, and Milo and places in between.
Window Dressers inserts are simple, durable pine frames with two layers of polyolefin wrap and foam gasket resulting in an R factor of about 3 resulting in marked reduction in heat loss through windows. They can be used season after season. The inserts are measured specifically to fit your window, so a team has to come to your home to measure each window. This usually is completed in less than an hour. Most people find a substantial improvement in comfort: reducing draft, eliminating frost on inside of windows, and reducing street noise while also reducing energy costs and benefiting the environment.
The team is also looking for volunteers to help with the construction of the inserts during the workshop for a shift (four hours) or two. All jobs can be easily learned, and it is a great way to meet new people and help your community. Students can help out and earn community service.
If you have put off your order for 2019, or are interested in helping with the workshop now is the time to sign up. Call immediately 596-3073 or go to www.windowdressers.org. Don’t be left in the cold.
