James Morgan Morrison

South Berwick, ME- James Morgan Morrison of Fifes Lane passed away peacefully on June 1, 2019 at the Newton center in Sanford. James, after a courageous year struggle with cancer, set his compass with the last flickering light of life for his eternal journey and walked another path with his brother Richard who predeceased him on November 1, 2017. Being happy, well and full of life together and just perhaps a little mischief in their journey. James was predeceased by his father John J. Morrison and grandparents Hazel and Louis Morrison of Guilford. James was the beloved son of John and Marion Morrison of Guilford and Enfield, ME. Born August 3, 1959 at the Mayo Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine. James graduated from PCHS Guilford, after graduation courses in carpentry and small engines. James won various awards at various events. He had an ability to repair machinery with precision results. James with his brothers Lewis and Richard in younger years had a grass/snow racing team, winning several competitions in Maine. The serenity of the tall trees and woods became his work in timber harvesting. In later life he helped to build golf courses in Southern Maine. His knowledge of the species of trees guided him with his landscaping. James worked several years for Salmon Falls Landscaping in Berwick. James favorite thing was gathering with family and friends at Cold Stream in Enfield, ME, enjoying fishing with his brothers, sisters and friends who would catch the biggest salmon or Togue. His constant devoted partner Kathleen Clark in his last few weeks of illness kept a constant vigil by his side. James is survived by his son, James D. Morrison and his partner Ashley; his daughters Jessica Thurlow and husband Mike of Auburn, ME and Morgan Peasley and her husband Ryan of Somerville, ME; grandchildren, Jayden Morrison of Andover, CT, Aiden, Arianna, Arissia and Bodie Thurlow, Keegan Peasley; his mom Marion Morrison Guilford and Enfield, ME; his brother Lewis J. Morrison and Helen of Guilford, ME; sister Nina Morrison and her husband John Zachau of Rollinsford; nephews, John Bjork and his wife Amanda and their children Raegan and Carter of Berwick, George Thornton of Berwick, Louie Morrison and Amy of Herman, ME, and their children Elin and Camden; niece Laurie Morrison of Dover-Foxcroft and her sons Brayden and Mason; he also formed a special bond with Kathleen Clark’s children, Erin and Wayne Allen of South Berwick, and their sons Aiden and Bryce and Elizabeth Denney and her daughter Emma of South Berwick; his furever friend “Oso”; and many coworkers at Salmon Falls Nursery and many special friends that remained close that formed a special bond. The Soul is not anchored to the Earth it becomes heaven bound as it soars in the sunlight silence and floats in the wind into the massive blue windswept heights to the sacred volume of space and reaches the outstretching arms of God welcoming us home. Our circle has been broken once again, as well as our hearts. Our children are lent to us for a short time. We know not the time to end. Love them for they are too soon gone from sight. Fly on my sweet angel, fly on through the sky, fly down from the heavens and rescue me. At James request there will be no funeral services. However a celebration of life will be held at Kathleen Clark’s house at 47 Fifes Lane in South Berwick on Saturday June 8, 2019 at 2pm.
