In each of her communities, through various leadership and service activities, Vachon was selfless in her devotion to others. She believed in the mission and works of Key Club International and was passionate about the organization and her connection with the Kiwanis Family. The Katie Vashon International Convention Scholarship is awarded annually to a New England and Bermuda District Key Club member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability and service to others. This scholarship will be used to help offset the total cost of attending the Key Club International Convention, held annually each summer. This year’s recipient is Black.

The Key Club recorded 105 service projects for 5,300 hours, an average of 72.5 hours per member, with most of these taking place in the local community. Overall, the club had 17 members with 100-400 hours plus another 27 members in good standing (with 50 hours) this year alone.
