Food storage workshop coming to Dexter April 13

DEXTER — As a companion piece to an earlier Dexter Dover Area Towns in Transition (DDATT) workshop on “Being Prepared,” Felix Blinn will host a free public class on food storage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the Dexter Town Hall (across from the Abbott Memorial Library).

Blinn’s extensive experience and training over decades of military and civilian service give him practical authority to discuss what to store, how much, shelf life, water storage, cost savings, sources and other related subjects regarding basic family food storage. Not only that, but he also works in plenty of humor and upbeat philosophy to make a fun and memorable learning process.

Please note that the starting time and location are different from previous DDATT workshops; DDATT is grateful for the town of Dexter’s support in having both the excellent Abbott Memorial Library and the town hall for our many free events.

No refreshments will be offered during the workshop but participants are encouraged to bring their own “brown bag” for lunch.

DDATT’s mission is to help our area increase our energy and food independence and create a more stable rural economy, sharing skills and ideas which can help us all take better care of each other and our natural resources.

For more information on DDATT and future events, email info@ddatt.org to get on email news list or call 277-4221 or 924-3836.
