USDA Local Working Group to determine Piscataquis County natural resource priorities

DOVER-FOXCROFT — The Piscataquis County USDA Local Working Group (LWG) will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 4 — with a snow date of Friday, Dec. 7 — at 10 a.m. at the Morton Avenue Municipal Building Gymnasium, 48 Morton Avenue.

The LWG is convened by the Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District and assists the USDA/Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in determining local natural resource priorities and conservation program focuses in Piscataquis County for the USDA Farm Bill Programs. Farmers, foresters, landowners, personnel from agencies involved in natural resource management, and the general public are all encouraged to attend to provide recommendations to the NRCS regarding the implementation of the Farm Bill in this county. Topics of discussion will include a summary of the 2020 Fiscal Year conservation programs; local ranking priorities; and funding pool allocations.
