Leola E. Pearl

EXETER AND DEXTER – Leola E. Pearl, 93, died October 26, 2018 at a Bangor health care facility. She was born October 11, 1925 in Levant, a daughter of Manza and Elvina (Gray) Woodard. She married Warren Pearl May 3, 1944 in Milo. They resided in Exeter for 33 years before moving to Dexter in 1993. She was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Exeter for many years, and also belonged to the Dexter Golden Age Club.
She is survived by 4 children, Warren, Jr. of NH, Loretta “Sue” Lonesky and husband Gerald of Brewer, and Deborah Pearl of Holden, Rita Broad and husband Richard of Corinth; 9 grandchildren, Everett Pearl and family of Orlando, FL, Regina Wilson and family of Dayton, OH, Marie Pearlscott and family of Seattle, WA, Russell Broad and family of Corinth, Rhoda Underhill and family of Stetson, Joanna Traussi and family of Sidney, Robert Thompson of Brewer, Valerie Thompson of Corinth and Jeff Thompson; great grandchildren, Hunter, Ella and Shay Traussi, Ian Wilson, Alexandra and Leah Pearl, Elsa and Finnigan Pearlscott, Christopher Weirs, Joshua and Tony Underhill and Faith Broad; siblings, Althea Wheaton, Betty Hazelet, and Roger Woodard, all of Pittsfield, Joyce Davis of Brewer; and sister-in-law Dorothy Mountain of Dexter; brother-in -law Burt Lancaster of Ft. Worth, TX; sisters- in-law, Helen Pierce and husband Kenny of VT and FL, Judy and husband Albert Monroe of VT and FL, and Diane Philpot of Clinton; many nieces and nephews including special nieces Dee Boudreau and husband David of Charleston and Lori Lindley of Bangor.
Leola was predeceased by her husband Warren in March, 2002; and her foster son, Arnold “Butch” Thompson and wife Jackie in July, 2012; brothers, Henry, Lewis, Carl, Donald, and Kenneth; sisters Mildred Ward, Dorine Allen, Audrey Bickford and an infant sister Helen, a special half-sister and companion Nancy Lee Woodard, who lived with and was cared for by Leola for 26 years prior to Nancy’s death in January 2008; as well as great grandchildren, twins, Ethan and Elliott Broad in May, 2003.
A private family committal service will be held at the Exeter Center Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, 68 Exeter Road, Corinna.
