FALL DINNER LEADING UP THE ELECTION -- The Piscataquis County Democratic Committee held a “Blue Wave” Dinner on Oct. 20 at the East Sangerville Grange, as attendees heard from party candidates running for local, regional, and state offices.
County Democrats hold ‘Blue Wave’ dinner
Piscataquis County Democrats filled the East Sangerville Grange on Saturday, Oct. 20 for their annual fall fundraising dinner, this year promoted as the “Blue Wave” dinner. Over 100 individuals enjoyed a delicious meal of baked beans, ham, cole slaw, squash, and homemade breads and desserts prepared by a corps of volunteers throughout the day. Following the meal, local candidates spoke to the enthusiastic crowd who waved their blue napkins in support of the messages shared.
SANGERVILLE — Piscataquis County Democrats filled the East Sangerville Grange on Saturday, Oct. 20 for their annual fall fundraising dinner, this year promoted as the “Blue Wave” dinner. Speakers included Zak Ringelstein, candidate for U.S. Senate; Peter Mills on behalf of his sister Janet Mills candidate for the Blaine House; Sue Mackey Andrews, candidate for Maine Senate District 4; John Thiele, candidate for House District 118; Tyler Adkins, candidate for House District 119; Dr. Richard Evans, candidate for House District 120; and
Joe Belisle, candidate for district attorney.
Margarita Contreni, chair of the Piscataquis County Democratic Committee, presided over the evening’s events and Vice Chairs David Ziemer and John Contreni announced the recipients of two annual awards. Bill Welsh of Sebec was honored as the recipient of the Don Hall Award and Gloria and Russ Zela of Bowerbank received the Stephanie Locke Award. Over $3,000 was raised for the Piscataquis County Democratic Committee.
