Posthumous Purple Heart presentation for U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Sloat Aug. 15 at D-F American Legion

DOVER-FOXCROFT — U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Gregory A. Sloat of Dover-Foxcroft, who perished in the crash of an HMH 463 helicopter in Vietnam on Feb. 18, 1971, will be awarded the Purple Heart, thanks to the diligence of his fellow Marines.

The ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 15 at the Dover-Foxcroft American Legion Hall on Park Street. The recipient will be his mother Clarice Sloat Call. All are welcome to attend.
