Partners for Peace celebrates new name with open house and barbecue on Friday
DOVER-FOXCROFT — Partners for Peace, the domestic violence resource center formerly known as the Spruce Run-Womancare Alliance, will host an open house and barbecue at the Dover-Foxcroft office located at 8 Mechanic Street on Friday, Aug. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in celebration of the organization’s recent name change.
Partners for Peace provides support services to anyone affected by domestic abuse and violence in Penobscot and Piscataquis County, including a free and confidential 24-hour helpline. As a result of the name change, new outreach materials will be available at the open house.
“We are so excited to invite our community partners to our office to have lunch on us,” said Angie Alfonso, prevention educator at Partners for Peace. Burgers, hot dogs, and a vegetarian option will be served.
“We can’t wait to send folks home with our new materials and swag!,” Alfonso said.
