Lakers roll to Class D South championship

CLASS D SOUTH CHAMPS — The Greenville High School boys rolled to a 69-33 victory over A.R. Gould High School of South Portland during the 2017 Class D South championship on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Augusta Civic Center. The Lakers will now face Class D North champion Machias Memorial High School for the Gold Ball on Saturday at 2:45 p.m. at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. The two teams split during the regular season, with the Lakers having won 20 games in a row since falling 57-45 in Washington County during the 2016-17 opener.
