Carroll F. Arey, 86, husband of the late Mary (Smith) Arey, passed away August 10, 2016, at his home. He was born June 30, 1930, in Shirley, the son of Linwood and Erma (Davis) Arey. Carroll will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed logging and was proud to have cut wood until age 85. Carroll especially enjoyed time spent at the camp that he built with his family on Wilson Pond.
He is survived by his daughter, Roxann Arey; his two sons, Lindy Arey and his wife, Tori, and Colin Arey; four grandchildren, Chris, Tim, Caitlin and Colin Arey II; and four great-grandchildren, Logan Dewey, Jacob, Nicholas and Natasha Arey. In addition to his wife, Mary, Carroll was predeceased by his sister, Eleta Bean.
A memorial graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the Shirley Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Lary Funeral Home, Greenville. Messages of condolence may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
