Kathleen R. Leonard, 67, passed away August 5, 2016 at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born in Madawaska on November 15, 1948, daughter of Romeo and Fernande (LaChance) Cyr. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Philip “Babe” Leonard; one daughter, Donna Leonard and her fiancé Nicholas Deprey; Her mother, Fernande Cyr; two grandchildren, Nathan Levesque and Noah Deprey; two sisters, Gert Dufour and her husband Lloyd, Diane Hebert and her husband John; many nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and great-nieces. Kathleen was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Karen Bourgoin in 2008, and her father Romeo in 1986. Kathleen was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed attending community events, especially Music in the Park. She loved line dancing, cooking, babysitting her grandson Noah, and spoiling Nathan. She found great peace and comfort going to Mizpah where she created a beautiful memorial garden in honor of her daughter, Karen. She was a generous, strong, loving, and caring person who will be missed by many.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the St. David Church. Family and friends may call at Lajoie Funeral Home from 5-8 pm on Tuesday.
